I know a young woman who was told that a child - age four - should not be told to pick up their toys? Teaching a child life skills is over controlling? It was a CPS worker, what would you have done. I would have told her to leave my home immediately.

It was Dr. Spock that started the whole, "spanking is bad," scenario!
The man had NO clue what he was talking about.
I believe that discipline is essential on a daily basis! I also believe that spanking are necessary in certain situations.

As you have regularity in your life you should teach it also to those that come behind you or are smaller than you, when we are taught Discipline when we are young we would then teach it to those that are young when we are old,without Discipline there is no order in your life or the lives of those that are around you.you should teach Discipline in a mild way with a meek and humble spirit.ok God bless you

I would have told her to leave too. Telling a kid to pick up their toys is not abuse. There is something wrong with that person that said that.
