it is the strangest thing. i was lying here in bed half drunk and i got an itch on my hip. when i scratched at it it felt like a pimple, a really big one. but when i went to the bathroom to look at it it seems to be a raised mole. it was most definantly not there when i showered this morning, and it is just slightly painful ( just enough for me to notice it really) i dont really want to freak out about it. any ideas of what it would be or what you would do?

Moles can just appear. (I acquired quite a few moles after my last pregnancy.)
Yours: It may hurt right now because it is enflamed after you scratched it.

Go to a dermatologist and get it checked out. Does it ooze? Does it have rough edges? Notice the color, too? If it is bothering you or if you have any questions at all, you should see a Dr. ASAP. Melanomas are one of the fastest spreading malignant tumors. If you have any doubts, call the Doc as soon as you read this.
