I am looking for air tickets to Bangkok for around May 2007.
Can anyone give the best source?
Thanks a lot.

i would try looking around on the web or call a travel agency it cost nothing for them to give you a quote. I know some people who in the past used china airlines. try them.

I have to agree with Maureen G on this one. I have made several trips to Thailand in the last 6 years before moving here in 2005.

EVA Air is my choice too. They have lower prices than many of the other carriers, There is a Deluxe Class that is between economy and business class. The seats are a bit larger, more leg room and the seats are in the front of the plane.

The service I have received on EVA is far and above ANY U.S. flag carrier and most Asian carriers. The meals are very good, especially if you order a special meal (i.e. diabetic or low fat). I won't mention that beer, wine & booze is FREE.

The midnight (roughly) flight from SFO gets you into Bangkok around lunchtime a day later and you can hit the ground running.

If you need more specific information on the airline/trip, message me...and like Maureen said, BOOK EARLY!

There is no best source flying to asia that I have found. www.kayak.com and www.sidestep.com are the best search engines. You will still end up going to the airlines web sites.
I suggest check directly with China Airlines or EVA Air, as they have a best flights and prices. Delta uses EVA air and American uses China Airlines or vice versa. I forget.

The rates for the lowest fare is the afternoon flights that arrive in the late evening. Check each fare, I could be wrong. Mid week departure has fewer passengers. Holiday weekends are usually full. Sunday returns are usually full too. Expect a stop in either Taipei or Hong Kong for a few hours.

Philippine Air and Korean Air also flies there but, they are not great.

EVA Air does have a Deluxe Class or Elite Class seat for about USD 150 to 200 more round trip that is actually a business class seat in a economy class seating arrangement.

Good luck.

I live in Thailand and travel to SFO several times per year and have found that EVA Airlines have the best fares. Since it is a long flight you can upgrade to Evergreen Class and it gives more leg room.

Do book early as they due fill up!

Try this site: www.thaifly.com
They are in Chicago and Bangkok, Thailand. Have them quote you and compare with other sources. I usually get good competitive quotes from them.
