Rico laws work to try to hit illegal enterprises where it hurts: They're stuff. If a person is stopped and found with lots-o-drugs, has a car without a lien holder on it and wads of cash, then the police can seize the drugs, the car and all of the cash. The seizure is only like temporarily holding those assets until the person is convicted. If the person is convicted, the assets become the property of the department, if not, it gets released back to the owner.

Not all countries have them, but the United States does and (if I'm correct) it is federal so all states can use it. I've known some cases from east coast states where entire businesses have been seized. In fact, we have a 3-story building that was seized from a drug enterprise... We now call that building headquarters. ;O)

If they are just scum of the earth low lifes dealing drugs from their house, they must be investigated to prove it is going on then there can be further steps taken. Anything they have acquired through illegal means will be confiscated. I am a little confused about them having all sorts of legit businesses. Typically people with enough money to have legit businesses don't share a house. Sounds like they are small time criminals who sell drugs quit carelessly if you know so much, they don't sound smart.
