if god opened our(human) eyes to nakedness that required us to have clothes, why is it that some tribal people dont mind nakedness, did their ancestors not come from the "adam and eve eat apple see pee pee" cult?

im not nudist btw.

That's actually a good and valid question.

The only problem is, is that your question presupposes that this feeling of being ashamed because of nakedness is somehow hereditary. Even if it were hereditary, we can see that human beings can condition themselves via culture to respond differently to things.

An example would be pain- most people have the conditioned response and desire to avoid pain. But there are people who can condition themselves to tolerate and endure much pain, and even some who have become conditioned to seek it out and enjoy it. Even if there is some pre-preprogrammed response in a human to see nakedness as shameful, this response could be suppressed through conditioning.

That being said, it is possible that Adam and Eve were ashamed of their nakedness not because of instinct, but because of learned knowledge from God (or perhaps since they were directly created by God, knowledge which would normally be learned, but which God implanted in them specifically and individually in the creation). They may have already had a culture as a result of their fellowship with God, and when they ate the fruit and knowledge of good and evil was introduced into this culture this caused them to be ashamed of their nakedness.

A third possibility is that the knowledge imparted by the fruit was not (at least not fully) hereditary, just the tendancy to sin and be selfish as well as the ABILITY to know good and evil. This could be backed up by observation- babies and little children generally have to learn right and wrong from their families and communities.

These, of course, are all hypothesies, but your question did get me to thinking, and for that I thank you. I have actually considered the topic before, but not very deeply. I hope some of my answers get you thinking too! God bless!

Christians are upset by nudity because it makes them think of things other than their Jesus. Being that human scares them to pieces. They know they can't control the sexual urge, regardless of how much Jesus they throw at us, so they attach shame to everything even remotely sexual in an effort to suppress it, and that includes nudity. It hasn't worked yet, and they lose credibility every time they try. I've also noticed most of the people who are screaming loudest about nudity are the folks no one would want to see naked, anyway.

And yes, I love looking at nude women on beaches. I was an art student in college (before the money ran out) and I never got tired of looking at the models in life drawing classes.

*streaks naked through the thread*

I never understood why Christians think nudity is so evil and abhorrent. Sure clothes are a necessity in some climates, but it's a horrible thing what some missionary's have done to native people by forcing them to were cloths, many of them end up getting sick and dying.

Besides that, who wouldn't want to see young good looking nude women at the beach? ;-)

I'm no nudist either, but I prefer the state of nakedness to that of clothedness [when I'm alone, I am naked.]

What kind of a stupid question is this?

No tribal people I've ever studied makes a practice of full nudity.

And how do you expect to extrapolate from behavior today anything that happened in the past?
