I don't want to use Nero which is the only program i have on my computer because for some reason it doesn't let me burn any kind of DVDs. It saids that there's no "buffer level"

NERO is the best program to burn anything on any kind of media - CD, DVD, Blue Ray Disc, etc. You just need to check your settings, or if you recently changed your burner drive reinstall Nero. Also check with the drive manufacturer for an upgrade on the firmware, or check install disc that came with drive.

Sonic, Roxio and Nero are all pretty equivalent IMO.
http://cd-burning-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ has a good review of other sw.
But first I would uninstall, reboot, reinstall and update Nero. Maybe that would fix your issue.
