The bear will have its original colour, because a 4.9 min fall to the bottom of the 1m pit, means that the bear falls very slowly.
This gives the bear enough time to stabilze its self, and lend on its feet.

There r 3 things i want to know
1, What is the weight of the bear?
Because it takes 4.9 minutes to just fall in a pit of 1metre depth
Even a feather will take a maximum of all maximums of 1 minute to fall in a pit of 1m depth
2 Where was the pit dug
i)Was it in the snow
ii)Was it in the mud
iii)Was it in a swamp
3 What is 4.9minutes i only heard of 4.9 seconds and am sure there is no such 4.9 minutes . But if i am wrong please correct me
But still ur riddle was tricky and everyone did not even think of a bear taking 4.9 minutes to fall in a pit 1m deep

the color of the bear will be the original color so whatever it is white , brown , black, purple, pink ..........
and to reach a 1 mt deep pit how will a bear be reaching it in 4.9 min
the average height of any species of bear is of 3 mts and to fall in a pit of 1 mt he would be there not less than waist height and to reach the bottom of the pit will not take 4.9 min even if he is going thru a ladder .... :)

When a bear takes that long to fall, it will be muddy all over and will look brown, irrespective of its original colour.

it would be white...but becoz it fell in the muddy pit it would become brown...but since the pit is soo deep and it would be dark inside so he'll appear black!!
