My s.in law has always been distant and never gives me a chance to talk (treats me as I'm a child even though she's 6 yrs. older). My b-day was feb. 19th and the card she got me was of a cow as a stripper w/bulls watching. The card said (word for word) "Oh, sure they're nice, but are they REAL?" "Hope your birthday's udderly fantastic" "I wonder how I would look with a nose job..." Then she just signed her name.
What do you think....any advice will be great. If anyone wants elaboration, view my yahoo profile....e-mail is:

Sounds like she is a little on the immature side and you should treat her as such. ignore her and she will get tired of getting no response from you.

No idea why she is acting this way toward you, but I wouldn't take it personally. Anyone who does underhanded things like this as an adult is dealing with her own issues. A mature woman would approach you to express her concerns or explain that you have done something to upset her. By hinting she is hoping that you get it but still being careful to not do anything that you can accuse her of in front of her/your family. Sneaky. I'd bet she is jealous of you in some way, or maybe just very jealous in general. Some women don't want any other women around their men, including family. Sick but true.
Like I said, just ignore it. There's nothing you can do without causing problems within your family. If you confront her she will deny it. And while I would normally recommend talking things out with someone, in this case I feel it would do absolutely no good at all. If confronted she would no doubt tell you what she thinks you want to hear, but it wouldn't change anything. Let her have her game. But let her play it alone.
As for her not letting you talk, the next time she interrupts you just say (very politely) excuse me but I would like to finish my thought..and then go on with what you were saying. Don't pause, you don't want to leave her an opening. While you can't do anything about her attitude you can assert yourself in such a way that she understands you will not put up with her crap. But again, you need to be polite and not confrontational at all.
Most of all, don't get sucked into her game. She would love nothing more than to have you react in a way that she could use against you. Don't fall for her bait. Eventually she will move on to someone else.
You haven't done anything wrong. If you had, she would have told everyone about it by now, believe me. The game she is playing is not new to her, you are one of many people she has done this to. Her issues are her own, it's not about you. You are just the current target.
So don't take it personally. This is her problem.
Good luck.

OK

The fact that she did not put a question mark behind, "I wonder how I would look with a nose job..." shows that she does not respect you at all.

She just says things, like she's telling you what to do and stuff... Making questiony sentences without even putting question marks behind them, like she's the boss of you or something!

If I were you, I would drop everything and go to her house and find a real pretty spot in her garden and pee.

Take the high road!!! No matter what she does, no matter what she says, no matter how nasty she gets ~~~ treat her with the utmost kindness and be sure to do it in front of your brother, sometimes, so he knows. Be generous and sweet as pie. I promise you it will either "drive her crazy" or you'll "make a new friend".

Sounds like the older sister is jealous. Is she married or dating a guy for a long time? If so, sleep with him.
