ok any medical professional would tell you to WORK YOUR WAY UP to 10 minutes. start with 3 minutes a day for one week, then 6 min a day for the next week, then 9 min a day for one week, then 12 min and so on and so forth. you NEVER wanna jump right into a long workout. you need to build ur strength up, otherwise you could get really sore and possibly hurt urself.

Actually, the point of this device is that it can work in two modes. You can do a cardio-vascular workout on it to burn the fat, or you can turn up the resistance to work the muscles.

Building up the muscles WILL make you lose fat quicker, because bigger muscles burn more calories. It's like having a bigger engine in your car - it uses more fuel.

Done right, the trainer will firm up and tone up your leg muscles, namely the quads, and depending on how well you respond to resistance training and your diet/rest, you can see positive results in a couple of weeks. But do bear in mind that it will do nothing, absolutely nothing whatsoever towards burning fat, let alone fat in that area.

Simple rule of fitness: resistance training (any exercise where you try to move a bodypart against resistance like weights, springs, magnets, rubber straps, etc.) strengthens and firms/tones muscles, but does not directly burn much fat. Cardiovascular training (anything that requires you to breathe harder and heart beat faster like running, cycling, etc.) burns fat. Nothing whatsoever you can do can determine where you burn fat first - that is determined by your genetic make-up.

*******
Rowdy: lateral thigh trainers do not build muscle - they're more of an isolation exercise and not a basic/compound. For clarity, basic/compound resistance exercises (ie: squats for thighs, bench presses for pecs, military presses for shoulders, etc.) build muscle, isolation exercises (leg extensions, thigh trainer, pec deck flyes, etc.) work to tone up muscles.

Besides, to build muscle with the aim of burning fat is a bit of a long winded way to get to your goal. The more effective thing to do is to concentrate on cardiovascular work and do some resistance training to support it (ie: to save muscle tissue from being broken down, to tone up)

to notice any difference it wil take about a month for muscle to appear, you might lose some weight before hand though, measure yourself every week to see if your losing any inches
