Does age different matter?

My best friend is 18 and she is getting married to a guy that's 42!
she also says that she is madly in love with him.

and he has 2 kids and she met them when she went on a vacation with his and the kids..and she is saying that she "loves them"

she is very mature and he is very fit. they look very good together and seem very happy and stuff.

But I'm so worried for her! I mean we grew up together ..she is like a sister to me.. and she is doing this.. I want her happiness but It's such a strange situation. I don't want her to be hurt and I don't want her to be unhapppy..

what do you guys think? I'm going crazy!

oh and her parents are totally ok with it.. they don't even care!

your concern is understandable. because you know your friend very well. you are concerned about how she will deal living with this man who is twice her age and has 2 kids. You have to sort out how your friend will deal with this man if she is to have kids with him too. how family life will be like. the ex-wife? her lack of experience in relationships? many questions arise from this. Just be there for her and support her. opposing her only leaves her with less people to rely on if she runs into major problems with this relationship.

Strange! But if they are really in love I'm sure it can work! (;

Besides, it's her life, she can throw it away if she wants to! You sure want the best for her, but if she wants to do something like that..there isn't much you can do!

Just be a good "sister", like you claim to be, and give support.

Don't worry, be positive and happy for her.. and keep your fingers crossed for the best! Love doesn't understand age...

you should tell her how you feel...tell her that your just concern and afraid that maybe at the end she might get hurt and you don't want that to happen to her...so you won't go crazy anymore...

As long as she said shes happy and his well fit and her parents are okay with it....then, they'll be just fine...

But if ever something happen at the end...just tell her consider it as an experience and learn from your mistakes....

It's OK for both of them. You yourself have admitted that she's in love with him.

When my dad was graduating middle school, my mom was graduating kindergarten. so no, if she isn't in collage yet, its illegal to have sex.
