A third-party defragmenter has just lost me almost all my disk space. What should I do?

This defragmenter worked very bad. And it has just made me lost my disk space by screwing up my MFT and index. What should I do? Will a simple chkdsk help?

Get a better Disk maintenance program!!

" I think " Diskeeper 2007 is very good.

Or as pappy said. use XP one. The problem with MS's defrag is it doesn't defrag your free space so it will fragment again in no time.

chkdsk may help, but like all things XP, the built in stuff is touch and go!!

I would defrag again using the Microsoft built in program.
