most will argue that Christianity is growing. And per the numbers it is, but it's not keeping up with population growth.
I don't know if the people are leaving for other religions, but the new member rate is falling short.
There have been large growth in the earth religions. But even these growths are based on percent, and while a 450% increase in numbers, still only puts the total at 16% (America as of 2001)
It would seen the largest growth in the world is seen by the Muslim community. - on a personal note I'm very sorry to admit that.
However (from 1990 to 2001 in America), All Monotheistic groups have seen a slight drop. -.02%
And Polytheistic groups have risen 2.56%
The difference is made up for the fact that more people answered the question in 2001 than in 1990.
Atheism and Agnostic stayed about the same.
EDIT* - Quote
"There are over 2.1 billion Christians in the world, and it's the religion with the largest amount of followers.Christianity is growing by nearly 3% each year."
While it is the largest single group, there are more people that are Polytheistic in the world than are Monotheistic.
And by 3% is very close, but Muslims are enjoying a rate of around 4%. Jews get around .2% increase. But the world population is growing around 11% each year. Who are those other 4% following?

i do no longer think that the Church (Christians or Believers...no longer a development or employer or guy-made employer) is involved in changing absolutely everyone from one faith to a diverse faith. The Church (Christians or Believers) is involved and mandated and privileged to share the stable information of Jesus Christ the Messiah with all. I element human beings to the Bible. God's observe provides the actuality. The Holy Spirit brings conviction. i'm waiting to share from my own stories, yet i do no longer individually convert absolutely everyone from something. God himself provides faith. faith comes from listening to God's observe. God isn't involved in faith. he's involved in a dating with all. All who will settle for Jesus as Lord could have a dating with Him.
