Actually Baha'i is a very interesting religion that started in Persia in the 19th century (so not so long ago). There are Baha'i communities all over the world because this faith recognizes most other major religious beliefs (Christianism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and etc.).
The Baha'i belief is centered around the fact that there is only one God who communicates with humans through "messengers" (like Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha and etc.) They believe that the most recent (but of course not the last) prophet is Baha'u'llah; a real man born in 19th century in Tehran and who also happens to be the founder of the Baha'i faith.
Everyone I know who has come into close contact with this religion has grown to highly respect it. I personally don't know much about it other than what I told you but you can find out more through such sources as wikipedia, your public library and etc If you're really interested you'll probably be able to find a Baha'i community near by where you live, because (from my experience) they are really everywhere.

Founded a century and a half ago, the Bahá’í Faith is today among the fastest-growing of the world’s religions. With more than five million followers, who reside in virtually every nation on earth, it is the second-most widespread faith, surpassing every religion but Christianity in its geographic reach. Bahá’ís reside in more than 100,000 localities around the world, an expansion that reflects their dedication to the ideal of world citizenship.

its not a faulse religion its a religion founded by Bahá'u'lláh in 19th century Persia. Bahá'ís number around 6 million in more than 200 countries around the world.[1][2]

According to Bahá'í teachings, religious history is seen as an evolving educational process for mankind, through God's messengers, which are termed Manifestations of God. Bahá'u'lláh is seen as the most recent, pivotal, but not final of these individuals. He claimed to be the expected redeemer and teacher prophesied in Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and other religions, and that his mission was to establish a firm basis for unity throughout the world, and inaugurate an age of peace and justice, which Bahá'ís expect will inevitably arise.[3]Three core principles of Bahá'í teachings are often referred to simply as: the unity of God, the unity of religion, and the unity of mankind.[2] Many Bahá'í beliefs and practices are rooted in these priorities; but taken alone these would be an over-simplification of Bahá'í teachings.
