im looking into 2 cars. i currently have a 97 mitsubishi eclipse GS but i had to redo the head. should i keep the redone head or trade it for a 2000 suburu rs. i like the suburu cause of AWD and more power but the eclipse is unique and stylish, plus modded in apperance.

not sure which one will be more reliable or better investment

Subaru is better built than the Mitsubishi hands down... plus trust me the RS is a fun car especially with the 165 torque and AWD! the eclipse cant beat that! .. the RS is not ugly ... the AWD is great for any weather! excellent passing speed and cornerin on rails! what more could you ask for ... and the RS gives u 22-29 mpg which doesnt compare to badly to the mitsu combined avg of 26mpg...plus its a very safe car! subaru makes really safe cars along with it being fast!

yes the eclipse does look much better ....and since youve had the eclipse and fallen for it ..its hard to let go BUT...
in the end i suggest you drive the subaru and see if u like it .. if you do?.... then trust me once you buy the subaru.. with in a week you will fall in love with it!

According to my mechanic, Suburu is right up there with Toyota and Honda for reliability, and Mitsubishi is near the bottom of the list. Misibitshi makes cool looking cars, but the one I had was in the shop a lot. I think reliability and saftey are much more important than a cool look - more practical too.

But if you trade it in, you'll take a hit on the trade-in and owe more money. Cars are not a good investment, no matter what the make. They all depreciate. The Suburu will depreciate less, and slower (much slower) than the Mitsubishi.

If your Mitsubishi runs (for now), and it's paid for, keep it and save for a huge down payment on the Suburu. Although most people borrow miney to buy cars (including me), it is not sound financially. Education and a home are actually the only two things that you should ever pay interest charges on.

Suburu without a doubt, its is the best car I have ever driven as well as the all wheel drive got me out of the woods in the winter time as well.
