I did switch to Vista. But I went back to XP because my games worked better.

Vista is not a must have at the moment. It hasn't made any major improvements over XP. I would wait a year to see where it goes. In some cases Vista actually runs slower than XP because of all the processing power it needs to run. So I would wait until you need to buy a new computer to get Vista.

I'd say wait a year or so. The extras aren't really worth the money or the cost of maybe having to add extra RAM etc to your PC. Vista really needs 2GB Ram for everything to run at it's best. It looks pretty but it isn't the quantum leap all the hype says it is. If you have XP stick with that. I don't know anyone who has switched to Vista who are really happy with it.

Im running vista business and I have got to tell you there isnt any great diffrence except improved security, there isnt a lot of software support for vista many of my games dont work as well and im finding that everything im downloading for vista isnt written for it, you should be able to run XP quite comfortably.

The only reason is all other OS's will someday be obsoleted by Microsoft. Just do not hurry till the bugs are out.
