I am 21, 199pnds, 6ft. Ive been working to get back in shape and Ive been running for about 30-45 minutes a day (5 times a week) in the morning, then lifting @ night around 5pm alternating days with upper body/lower body.

Ive also changed my eating plan completely. I dont eat out anymore, I dont drink soda, or sweetened drinks.

My average food intake looks like this:

Morning: Oatmeal w/raisins
Snack: Nuts or Yogurt
Lunch: Chicken and a salad with italian dressing
Snack: Nuts or Yogurt
Dinner: Salmon, Steak or Sushi

and I drink about 4 glasses of water a day.

Is this the right plan to stick with? I mean I never really eat after 10pm anyways and really can stick to my workout schedule. Is 5 times a week good enough to start shedding excess fat?

I think you are on the right track. The excercise regimen seems reasonable, and you have a fairly good combination on your meals, but you seem to be slighting yourself on vegetables. Your water intake should really be about half your weight in ounces, ie 100 oz. Consider using nutritional suppliements that include intermittent cleansing. An example that has helped my wife break through a weight threshold she fought for years is discussed here - www.salty124.isagenix.com

Good luck and keep up the good work.

products like trima spa can lead to other health problem.
You are on the right track but if you went to a Weight Watchers meeting you would be amazed at the different foods that you can eat in moderation (there are no forbidden foods) plus the main thing is you would be contact with like minded people and if you had a partner in your weight loss journey you would be more likely to stick to your goals. I mentioned Weight Watchers but their are many other groups but Weight Watchers is one of the cheapest to join and very user friendly. No matter what foods you decide to eat you have to vary your diet as if you eat the same foods everyday you care going to get bored. Your breakfast is about the same as mine...as breakfast is very important and oatmeal is a great way to start a day. Your exercise routine sounds very good to but I would try to vary your diet and it seems like your doing this very well. When you share your diet success story and keep your food journal you will find its not what you are eating that puts on weight...but whats eating you?..Good Luck

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body sculpting so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! The steak should be very lean (no rib eyes etc). The Italian dressing is WAY bad. Do oil and vinegar instead. Sushi rice is going to put on weight.
