Of course we don't. Thank God for grace. We are so undeserving of it. But we still need it, otherwise we have no right to be called the sons and daughters of God.

If you feel you don't deserve to then thats on you but if i feel guilty about something that I have done I will repent and ask God for forgiveness.

I am sure I'll burn in hell for this, but I don't think you should ask for it, because a) it trains you to just keep doing bad things to be forgiven for, which cheapens the forgiveness since it's easy and guaranteed, and b) honestly, if you believe in God and all that, surely you understand that forgiveness and mercy are up to him to grant, not you to ask.
Wasn't it JC who said something about "go and sin no more"?

But Jesus Christ also said to say, "forgive me my sin as I forgive those who sin against me." Jesus knew that we would sin and He offered us forgiveness if we asked.

if you are truly faithful then you do deserve forgivness, but since most people only say they are and don'y mean it i geuss you are right.
