Well, I have my first date coming up on friday. I haven't been on a date in a long time and I want to do something romantic/spontaneous/funny and I was wondering what you would think about this ...
-When I pick her up for the date ... pull out a rose from the center console in my car and say that I stole it from my neighbor? Would that sound funny, cheap, or lame? I'm trying to make it sound less intense.
_What if I say something like, "on my here I saw this house with the most beautiful flowers and I just had to take one" then start laughing so she knows i'm joking a little and then pull out a rose?
Just trying to decide if I should even give her a single rose at all.

It depends on who she is.
If she has a good sence of humor, pull out the rose and say
"i saw this in somebodys lawn, i think u deserve it more than them"(she knows your kidding) , if she is romantic pull out th rose and say "I saw this house with the most beautiful flowers and I just had to take one"
My brother dated TONS of these.
I would say give her the rose AFTER the date.
The part " I stole it from my neighbor" isn'r cheap.
It sounds cool ;)

Not a good idea to try to make a positive impression with a negative remark.
How about: Roses are red, violets are blue I picked this one --- just for you.
A rose by any other name is almost as sweet as you.
I'm sure you can think of something better than these.

Why not say what's in your heart when you give the flowers.. it would be way better than just trying to make it sound like a joke..
and..
Give her roses.. =)

I love it, I'd think you were adorable, sweet and funny all at the same time. It would seem better than having bought it, like you saw them and just had to have one for her. Even if you had to sneak it. Too sweet !!!

i say don't use that 'neighbor line' - its lame. and if you say the second pitch about you 'taking a flower'...nah..id stay away from that one too.
you could say that you were just thinking of her and you thought she'd enjoy these. or try tying in a compliment about her in why you got them for her specifically.
id really have second thoughts implanted in my head if you were stealing flowers from someone else for your own 'ill-gotten' gain.
i know i love flowers..just don't make the 'stealing comment' - it would be funny to me.

i think the rose is a very cute idea, and the stealing it as a joke it good too! i wish i could find a guy that would think of cute things like that!!

Depends on the girls personality... i personally think it is a good idea because it will break the ice and help her to relax.... So go with what u think she would like and just remember to have a good time and be urself... GOODLUCK

uhhhh yeah, it fairly is slightly too early for snuggling... how approximately going out for coffee/warm chocolate (the income of it fairly is which you're able to do the coffee difficulty in regardless of climate). That way you nonetheless get the warmth temperature, without the surprising-ness of snuggling.
