Be glad they didn't take you to jail for reckless endangerment and a boatload of other charges they can heap on you when you go that fast. Also be glad you didn't kill yourself or someone else. If all that happens is you slow down and take responsibility for your safety and for the safety of those that share the road with you,is fine with me. But I think, unless you get a lawyer, you're looking at a expensive fine. Even then lawyers aren't cheap. Good luck, and please slow down.

Unfortunately, a judge will not buy your plea not matter how many tickets you haven't had. You would just be wasting your time, the judges, and the officers. The reason being is because of the excessive speed and the reason you were going so fast; being tired and anxious to get home just wouldn't sway a judges decision towards your direction. Fact: A buddy of mine got caught doing 127 MPH in a Cobra and he was taken directly to jail and had to pay over $675.00 in fines, etc. Also, I don't know if the State of California does the point system for driving records, but they might dock a point or two from your licenses or take your licenses away for a certain amount of time because of the other ticket you received just recently. On the other hand, it is good to know that you recognize a stupid mistake.

I don't know how the system in California works but where I work, the best thing to do is talk to the Prosecutor. If money is your concern, don't hire a lawyer. If you talk to the Prosecutor before trial, he may agree to amend the charge to a lessor charge in exchange for a guilty plea. This may save you money or points on your license, or both. You may only be able to save your license at a considerable financial cost. Usually the Prosecutor is willing to trade something to save the taxpayers money for a trial. Ultimately the judge has the final say so on whether the deal is accepted. Good Luck and SLOW DOWN BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE!

ralph, i feel your pain. speeding during commute hours is a higher fine. more than 20 mph over speed limit is more money still. i'm guessing $400. go to court, and throw yourself on the mercy of the court. oh, and get on ebay to buy a radar detector!!

Go to court and beg for mercy. My sister had a speeding ticket reduced this way.
Good luck!

Next time, drive carefully and obey traffic laws. What you can do is just hire a lawyer. Even if you pay a lot, the violations may not stick and therefore will not get your license suspended.

you may be better off to go to court than to post bond. dress nicely, be respectful, acknowledge you were wrong and maybe, just maybe, the judge will cut you a little slack. but I gotta tell you, 102 is way excessive. you deserve whatever the fine is...don't you realize children, mothers and babies are on the roads with you?

Well, first you admit it to the Judge.
You pay a lot of money- a LOT of money.
Then, you go to another hearing to get your drivers license back.
You pay a lot of money- a LOT of money.
Then, you have to find an insurance company whos willing (Read, stupid enough) to insure you.
You pay a lot of money- a LOT fo money.
Being stupid should be painfull, obviously you are in agony
