I know "joshnya68" knows this but he doesn't accept emails... Cause I want to send out the FM freq.'s from my iTrip and pick them up and run it thru a small little speaker...

You need a substantially more complicated circuit to pick up FM signals. AM signals are transmitted on a single frequency, so even a simple passive circuit can be used to pick them up. An FM signal fluctuates in frequency around a central frequency value, and it's the difference between those two which encodes the FM signal. You need a circuit like a phase-locked loop to pick it up, which is much more complicated than a germanium diode-based radio.
