Could a non-smoker get tonsillitis from smoking a pack of ciggarettes in a 24 hour period?

tonsillitis is just an inflammation of the tonsils. this can occur from infection and by smoking.

Tonsillitis is simply an inflamation of the tonsils. Not all such conditions require surgery. Since smoking could irritate (thus inflam) the tonsils, the answer is yes. Lay off for a couple days and you'll be good as new.

If you're a non smoker and u smoked a whole pack of cigarettes in a 24 hour time period, your sore throat is probably due to all that you inhaled.
