Look up Chicken Hawks in the dictionary and you will see their pictures. They are the lowest of the low, sending so many to their deaths strictly for personal profit, they who wouldn't serve themselves. Their constituency is such a small segment, the uber-rich, not the ordinary man, who somehow believed that his best interests were being served. The economy is doing very nicely, thank you, as long as you're the CEO of an oil, pharmaceutical or defense contracting company. Bush and Cheney have systematically trampled the Constitution and beggered this nation to further their own ends. Look how soldiers on the front lines have been shortchanged, look how veterans are treated upon return. The war on terror has escalated, not abated. Shame.

Neither of them served in combat, so under the definition of the term they most certainly are. I'm not a fan of the term, however, as it implies that the only individuals who should have any opinion or authority with regard to military action need to have been enlisted at some point in their lives. I find it hilariously ironic that most people who use the term 'Chicken Hawk' never served themselves, which implies that people shouldn't listen to the 'Chicken Doves' either. It's a weak, self-defeating argument that I wish the anti-war movement would quit giving credence to.

Cheney got five draft deferments during the Viet Nam era because, as he puts it, he "had other priorities".

He has been one of the prime PNAC movers in favor of perpetual American global military dominance, and of the vigorous and early projection of military force abroad.

Bush joined the Air National Guard so he wouldn't have to go to Viet Nam, and could get into the guard because of his family connections.

He actually ordered the invasion of a country that had neither the plans nor the ability to harm the US militarily, and I don't believe for a minute that he really felt he had no choice.

Textbook examples of Chicken Hawks. You can debate whether or not that really matters, but they both avoided combat service and now take extremely hard line military positions with foreign nations. This is why I'd like to see Colin Powell or Wesley Clark be our next President.

Simple answer, yes. Bush served in the Air National Guard, with help from his family. Cheney, he never served in the Armed Forces but nonetheless advocates sending troops. Neither of them are willing to send their kids to combat but have no problems sending others parents kids.

I would rather put it more simple as chicken, Hawks have a higher degree of superiority

must be!! After all, they are full of chicken "SH_T" !! I don't think that the term "hawk" applies.Hawks have superior eyesight and these two could not find "WMD's".Or their nether regions in a snowstorm.!!
Whatever happened to Bin Laden.?? We seem to have forgotten about him or Afghanistan or their people.WHY did we go there??
Why didn't we go on while playing the "GULF WAR" and get Saddam then.

Of course they are. Any Republican president who sends our troops to war is a chickenhawk. Any Democrat president who does it isn't. That's because when you have the intellectual capacity of a 7th grader, it is much easier to just deny that cons have the RIGHT to argue with us than to actually form any sort of logical argument.
