my hourglass wont go away?

I tried scanning with avg and found no virus, but the hourglass is constantly running, help.

that means your computer froze. I suggest that you cold boot your computer. I also suggest that you reformatt or upgrade your computer and clear some space on your computer memory. AVG is too much for your RAM to handle.
