My tongue has a white coat on it and I feel like I have cotton in my mouth. I am assuming this is candida - does this mean it is in my intestines as well? I have been fatigued lately as well adn depressed. I haven't had this before, nor do I ever get yeast infections. Will antifungul medicine help or does this require more intense treatment. I don't get it - I exercise and eat well....why would I get this? Can it happen to anybody? Thanks

Ask your Dr for some swish and swallow Nystatin to clear the thrush/candida. Nystatin is a special type of antibiotic that causes candida to die. It is not absorbed in the digestive tract like antibiotics that treat bacterial infections. Gargle twice a day with the Nystatin and then either spit it out or swallow per Dr's instructions. Also start eating active culture yogurt daily. Don't take excessive antibiotics. Don't eat lots of sugar since sugar feeds candida yeast. Don't drink lots of beer either. good luck

It sounds like thrush (Candida). Yeast is normal flora, so if you haven't been taking any medications, then you should go to the doctor. You may have a compromised immune system.
Anybody can get it. It's not something freaky. Yeast grow in our bodies as part of our normal bacteria, and actually help us by producing vitamins. The problem is when you get too much of it or it gets in the wrong place. That is a sign that something is going on with your immune system. It may be no big deal, or it could be serious. If I were you, I would go to the doctor.

You need to see the doc for a proper diagnosis to see if this is thrush or not. It if it thrush the doc will prescribe an antifungal. It can happen to any one as it merely means the bad bacteria aka candidia bacteria have taken over the good bacteria.
