It's only painful to touch, i thought maybe a pimple and tried to pop it , but nothing happened, no puss just a small dot of blood and then it quickly healed it's self and didn't bleed. I treated it with some peroxide, and alcohol. I'm going to the doctor Monday for another check up, but am very bothered and baffled as to what this thing could be. It's about the size of my pinky nail, red, and swollen. From what I know about genital herpes it sdoesn't sound anything like herpes nore does it look like herpes. Not to mention the fact that I'm married and this has never happend before. I'm so confused. Well if anyone has had this happen and could give some advice let me know. Please no rude comments, it's completely not needed, and Yes I do know I need to talk to my doctor, so please don't state the obvious, i just want to know if anyone else has had this sort of thing happen. Thank you

I forgot to mention that it is on the left side of my clit, sort of right next to and on the clit. I also didn't mention that this has happened before it's never a cluster of small bumps or anything like that just one and sensitive. I was wondering, after talking to my husband, if it could be because here lately I've been sort of lacking in natural lubricant, so we've been useing lots of KY and trying to use a vibrater to help me make my own luricant, I always place the vibrater directly on my clit, so I'm wondering if this could have just irritated the area, I am pregnant and the added hormone changes might have caused it also I don't know I'm just really curious.

I've heard of this happening to women before. A painful, but harmless, bump appears down there, and within a day or two it's gone.
From what I've researched, it happens to women whether or not they are pregnant, and it doesn't appear to mean a whole lot. Just an irritation under the skin or something.

It could be an inflamed ingrown hair or just a weird random bump. It's good that you're going to talk to your doctor about it.

There's a slight change it could be herpes. The virus lies dormant and may or may not ever pop up as sores. The changes in hormones and in your body may have triggered it to become active for the first time.

By the way, if it is herpes your baby is NOT going to get it as long as your doctor is aware of what's going on. If you are having an active outbreak (sores are present) during the time of delivery they will do a c-section so the baby won't come into contact with the virus that is shed through the sores and skin. If you do not have any bumps, sores, or other symptoms at the time of delivery is usually perfectly safe to deliver vaginally.

Anyway that's just a for-instance. It's probably nothing to worry about but I'm glad you're going to see the doctor anyway. Congratulations on your soon-to-come little one!

It does sound like herpes. It will cause the baby to catch it if it is and you're having an outbreak. It can sit dormant for along, long time. You or your husband may have contracted it prior to your marriage - so don't jump to conclusions. Talk to your doctor as soon as you can, because you don't want to have a vaginal delivery during an outbreak.
