China has contributed a lot to the West. If you actually research Chinese history (or Asian history in general), I think the cultures are actually more advanced and sophistocated than the European cultures. Most Westerners simply don't study Asian history, so they are unaware of its contributions.
Some important Chinese inventions:
Paper
Gunpowder
Compass
Using animals in agriculture
Fireworks
Wheelbarrow
Kites
Many medicines

Depends on your definition of the west... if you're talking about the US- it's a nation of immigrants. I have trouble comparing their innovations to other countries because I don't really consider the US it's own people if that makes sense. Now if you're talking about europe... honestly everything evens out. I can't explain completely but what I want to say is that every nation has brought forth a lot. Sure the west is going to have more innovation than China because more countries make up the west... but China has made significant contributions....like PAPER. That's pretty darn great.

I think China's contributions are really great. Inventions like paper, gunpowder and printing are the best examples.
