Satan is actually a Hebrew word for "accuser" or "adversary", a servant of God who functions as a prosecuting attorney against mankind in the heavenly courtroom. He was later reinterpreted as a fallen angel by Christian mythology and literature, as popularized by works of literature such as Milton's "Paradise Lost". The word "Lucifer" is Latin for "light-bearer", and was originally a Roman appellation for the planet Venus; when the Vulgate was first translated, a mistranslation of a passage metaphorically describing the planet Venus "falling from the heavens" with reference to a Babylonian king, led to Christians mistakenly inferring that the passage was describing a fallen angel named Lucifer. Lucifer and Satan were then conflated and demonized in Christian folklore, much like other quasi-demonic entities such as Beelzebub.

Lucifer means "light bearer" He was created to reflect the light of God and was created a beautiful creature. He was a cherub, not an angel. After Lucifer decided he was going to be god and was better than God, God cast him down and gave him a new name to reflect who he was "Satan" which means adversary or accusere. He is no longer a light bearer and can no longer carry that name. He is now the prince of the fallen angels.

Satan and Lucifer are one and same thing.was an angel who rebelled against God and was chased from heaven. If you fall a prey to Satan you will not inherit the kingdom of God.Bible is the weapon to fight Satan, but remember Satan is very knowledgeable on bible matters.Remember when satan was tempting Jesus satan was always quoting bible.

He was once an angel but wanted to be greater then God, so he and the other angels who wanted to "overthrow" God were sent to hell and therefore turned into demons. His name IS Lucifer, satan is just another name for him.

Lucifer was one of God's greatest creations-"second in the universe" sort to speak ... He had the intelectual capability that no one remotely has now. he was an angel, with God... pride and jealousy took hold of him... Evil did-yes it did exist for all eternity with God... God can only be perfect and holy if evil is evil, for there to be good, there must be bad... etc -so Evil corrupted Lucifer and was casted out of heaven
