Called my co-worker last week to ask him if he wants to go to the movies next week if he is not busy. His voice mail was on so I just left a message. Saw him at work, apparently, there was a bad connection so he did not hear my message clearly. Hmmmm. He asked me what the message was. I now felt embarassed saying it in front of him. So I told him, I'll tell you later. I left a note in his attache case and wrote, " the voice mail message was to ask if you want to go to the movies this Friday if you are not busy. Left my phone number, too! He called, I did not answer. My voice mail was on. This was his message, " I love to go the movies with you sometime later. I have a friend visiting and I'll spend time with him this Friday. We'll talk about it later. Hope to see you this Wednesday. Is he genuinely interested or was it a gentle brush off?

I would say he is interested. You said if he was not busy. I would give him a chance. I would do as he said and talk to him about going out.

He sounds interested to me. He gave you a specific reason he couldnt go now, and offered to follow up later. You made the first move which is cool, but don't bring it up with him again, just wait and see what happens. If he doesn't get back with you next week, he's not interested. There's no way he would "forget" if he was. good luck!

Well, I don't think he would've called you back if he wasn't interested. However, if it happens again, he's most likely not. Hope it works out for you!

does it matter????? if u like him keep tryin!! until u find out for sure its a no go. is your interest important enough to try or not? it doens't matter what u think now if he interestede or not. he could be trying to be discreet, or shy, whatever. just keep tryin.

there is a difference between telling you he couldn't make it (without suggesting another date) and telling you he couldn't and take a rain check. he is interested in going out with you.
