that is pretty strange but my dog is the other way around she tries to put her face up against mine while i sleep and doesnt care when i blow in her face but she gets carsick and wont move from the floorboard to look out the window much less stick her head out

May be...just may be it has to do with the fact that dogs have strong sense of smell....so the smell of breaths is appalling to them even if your breath doesn't necessarily stink!!,
and they stick there head out of the car coz .....well...fresh air maybe....i don't no....one of those mysteries of the world...
