and souls and ghosts and universal mind...and...and...
It is true that some of us really don't believe these superstitions. Some have different beliefs though and just think that the term means not believing in the God of Abraham.
As you ask about reasons for stuff be very careful about the difference between what "how?" and "why?" mean.
How is mechanistic and practical. example: How does a water pump draw water from a well?
Why is metaphysical and tricky, about uses, needs and purposes. example: Why does a water pump draw water from a well?
Most people would think they are the same. They are not. How is mechanics, "the pump has valves and makes a vacuum, sucking the water up"
Why is , "So that people can drink fresh water," Or "so that the crops can be irrigated," or "so that clothes can be washed."
The difference between these two words contains the difference between science and religions. The rest, the unsaid part, of this statement is for you to think about. Why is religion? How is science? If you mix them up then you get "How is religion?" This is the science of religion. Or you get "Why is science?" which is the religion of science.
You are asking about a definition in your question but it makes me wonder which of the two you want to know about it for. How does atheism work or why does atheism work. Practicle mechanics or metaphysical needs.

I do not deny what I believe not to exist. By definition of denying its existence, then I cannot deny what does not exist. If I believed in God, then I would be following a person that is perfect, yet has to resort to killing us with water and plagues. The condom being that a perfect god would not need to kill, let alone using rudimentary methods.

Not all Atheists say that God(tm) doesn't exist, that's an incorrect assumption about Atheists. Atheists just don't believe in any gods or deities. Just like Christians, Atheists don't believe in Zeus, Loki, Adonis, Mithras, Shiva, or any other gods or deities out there. Atheists just don't make *any* exceptions, like Christians do for their gods.

the main necessary message of Christianity is to "understand your neighbor". tens of millions of Christians do no longer understand this coaching in any respect. What stable is a faith which could no longer convince human beings of that? The Bible says "Obey my observe, else be condemned". i do no longer see absolutely everyone being condemned. we are living in a society the place words like "impolite", "tawdry", and "courtesy" are no longer understood. they have fallen out of the Lexicon. Humanity and civility became into in a position for Christianity (a hundred and fifty years in the past) while the international inhabitants became into under 2 billion. Now this is practically 7 billion, and could be 8 billion in 2 many years. If Christianity is doing this poorly at preserving order and peace, you are able to no longer assume it to sooner or later. Society is feeble, opposed, and overwhelming. people who worship Christ do no longer obey his words. little ones are rendered asunder till now they attain age 10. the faculties care extra approximately Christopher Columbus than the main functional foundations of a society.

No.
Denial (blasphemy) of the Holy Spirit is not saying "I deny the existance of the Holy Spirit.".That's not what it means.
Blasphemy of the HOly Spirit is talking about a specific thing-attributing what you know is the work of God,to the Devil.
Matt. 12:22-32 says, "Then there was brought to Him a demon-possessed man who was blind and dumb, and He healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw. And all the multitudes were amazed, and began to say, "This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?" But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons." And knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand."And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? "And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Consequently they shall be your judges. "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. "Or how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house. "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven."And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come,"
The Pharisees were not saying "I deny you,Holy Spirit".They were attributing the works of God to the Devil. That is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

[how's that for short and sweet compared to my last question?]
[mypublicident: you make a valid point, but just endulge them once in a while... it's not going to change anyone's mind or anyone's opinion of each other...]
