I have a .avi file which is 699mb and a cd-rw 700mb but when i try to burn it with nero, after total completion a message appeared that there wasn't enough space on the disc as 900mb was needed by the file while only 700mb is available. what is the prolem, why does a 699mb file need 900mb?what could be the problem?

You are probably trying to burn the Cd as a video cd , so when it is encoded in the vcd format , the Size of the file increases , So you have 2 options
1. Either burn the CD as a data disk , then it will work out.
2. Use some compression/Converter s/w too reduce the size of the avi file and try burning again.
p.s If you have to use the CD for Computers only then making a data cd is recommended

im not sure...
maybe it needs space extention or allowance
