2nd question 1st. 3 reasons:
1) Politics
2) politics
3) politics.

Gen Choi, who founded ITF visited N Korea & was therefore labeled a traitor by the govt of S Korea. WTF is S Korean.

There are many many other TKD associaltions.

WTF is oriented towards Olympic competition, ITF is more traditional. My personal preference is towards tradition. IMHO, traditional styles prepare you more to protect yourself.

Ok first off ITF has 3 guys claiming to be president so so they have 3 different headquarters. So maybe someday when they get everything straight they can be one organization but right now the WTF and ITF can't be one when you got 3 ITFs. I think they are both good. I go to a school where we learn both ITF and WTF Forms with some Tang Soo Do and Karate ones thrown in as well.

Don't foget the USTU. The reason they can't unite is because then the ones that run the other organizations would no longer be able to collect dues. It's all about money. None of them really care about their members.

I think Tae-Kwon-do is the best.

I did it when I was 16 and still enjoy it.

Thanx!
