Crocop will annihilate Sylvia. Tim is just all brawn and depends on his muscle and weight. He has never fought a fighter experienced as Mirko. Check out this clip to see the next UFC Heavyweight Champion.

CroCop ranked 2nd amongst the heavyweight fighters in the world and Sylvia is ranked 5th. So I would say Sylvia has a chance to beat CroCop, not the other way around. CroCop was brought in specifically to bring up the talent level in the heavyweight division. Tim Sylvia is the most unpopular champ in the UFC (closely followed by Sean Sherk) and neither of these two champions will sell as many PPV's as CroCop.
That all being said, Sylvia does have a chance to beat CroCop. He has great power in both hands, and CroCop is susceptible to a great overhand right. However, CroCop has a much better game and more effective strikes than the current champ. He will take the belt from whomever he faces, be it Couture or Sylvia.

Cro-cop will no doubt take Sylvia's belt the first time they fight.Tim might have lost his belt if he fought Brandon Vera,Vera was the best chance for Sylvia to lose his belt but he's not in the UFC right now and Cro-cop is a true #1 contender.

Your absolutely right: Sylvia has exceptional power, decent technique, and he speaks well and is an intelligent fighter just like most people in the UFC. But you forgot to point out that Tim Silvia punches exceptionally fast and he is quite precise with his punches as well.
On the other hand, Coutore thinks that Silvia's heart is in question(or fighting spirit, whatever you want to call it), and sometimes with all that height and mass, you might not need a heart like a lion. Personally, I think Randy is right, actually, I don't think Tim has the heart of a champion.
In a long bout, in a test of endurance, cardiovascular health, and mental strength; you definetly need the heart to go along with it, otherwise you will fold up in the face of a real champion. But in a fight with someone like Cro Cop or Chuck Liddel, someone who can Ice you in the first round, it might not matter how much heart you got. If CropCop cracks Silvia on the chin, solid, with one of his shots, Silvia is going to go out and lose the title.

I won't be that surprised... Sylvia is an awkward fighter but that works to his advantage I think. People crack on him cuz he isn't very explosive and doesn't have the look of a champion but he is a hard worker, hits hard, and his awkward style can give many fighters fits... But I won't be surprised if Cro Cop wins either.

The better question is does Sylvia have a chance at Cro Cop?
He has to beat Couture to stay Champion, and that is no easy task in itself.

Go to youtube type mirko crocop and be amaze, I love UFC but the caliber of fighter in Pride is WOW, look also for andy hug but his dead, most of crocop losses have been in decision with 1 submission and 1 KO.
Sylvia is a like kid compare to crocop, there is only one man that is more dangerous than cro cop and that is Fedor Emelianenko, this guy is unstoppable.
Prediction mirko crocop first round, like he said left leg put you in the hospital right leg put you in the cemetery.

I don't think anyone is in a better position to take Sylvia's title than Mirko. His kicks are devastating and a fight with Sylvia would most likely be an exchange of blows, which I think Mirko would win. He is a scary dude to fight!

I won't be shocked, Sylvia's a bad mofo, but Mirko will be favored to win. He's a world class kick boxer and since Sylvia likes to stand and trade, you have to think Mirko will have the advantage.

lets see crocop is a devastating fighter with great power and precision tim sylvia i guess u can call him a smart fighter he uses hes height and weight advantage over people and he doesnt really fight to win he fights not to lose(he'll slap the guy a few times and then defend and let the fight go to decision)
