Usually when I talk to people i get a headache. My head feels like it tightens and its usually on the right side of my brain. Sometimes its on my left. Also sometimes its a sharp pain like something stabbing into the side.

Its weird. I can try to sense my brain and see how it feels and when I do this I feel the headache come on.

Has anyone ever had this before or know what it is?

Headaches are horrible as you well know. The headache that you are describing seem to sound as if they are tension headaches due to stress such as having to talk to certain people. Some people cause a person to stress out and believe it or not even people that you like talking with can begin a headache. Instead of trying to feel deep into your pain you may want to try a relaxation technique. If you can get into a quiet place try to relax and try meditation-like concentrating on something soothing ,do not begin to put your mind into a state of business, such as planning what you are going to fix for dinner. Migraine headaches usually come on quickly and can last from hours to days. Some people cannot tolerate bright lights, loud noises, and sometimes feel nasuaeous. If you are having headaches, they definitely should beevaluated by a doctor. Tests such as CAT scans, MRI's, and other things may be tested. Based on the results of your exam and testing, you and your doctor will learn how to treat you so you can better cope. If you should get a BAD headache that just cannot be relieved by conventional methods, contact your doctor or go to your local emergency room.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Headaches/migraine can be triggered by stress. Does talking with these people causes you stress?
It sounds like you'd be a good candidate for meditation. Studies have proven that people can reduce the severity of their headaches by practicing meditation and belly breathing.
It also sounds like you might have classic migraine. See a specialist. If you take a triptan class of medication at the first sign of your headache, you'll get excellent relief.

If this is really worrying you, go to the hospital and get a cat scan done to be sure there is nothing wrong. The same thing happened to me, it started out as a simple headache and it got worse the pain was so bad that I went for a cat scan and was relieved to know that it was the muscles in my neck. I got muscle relaxers and I have been pain free since. Hope you feel better.

It sounds like a form of migraine, but that's too easy an answer to give. Do not delay in seeing a doctor and getting your whole head checked out properly. If it's anything serious, the sooner it's diagnosed the better for treatment. Besides, you should put your mind at rest.

It does not happen when I talk to people but, I happens when I eat certain foods. It is like a tense feeling at the back of my head, however it goes away fast. I can't really describe it but, sometimes it's painful when it happens. Plus, I get dizzy on ladders.

Yes it is possible. Whenever I have to talk to my in-laws I get a headache.(seriously) Actually it feels more like a vessel in my brain is about to burst,I can feel it throbbing after just a few minutes.

When you come across a tough problem or conflict with people, your brain tends to work more. Depending on WHAT the problem/conflict is about, the part of your brain that controls that specific subject heads into overdrive, sturggling to keep up. Pain is your brain's way of warning you of this.

Maybe its just stress related. Certain people can cause stress when you talk to them and so you get headaches.
