What does this 'rose from the dead' mean?
I used to just agree when our pastor or elders would talk about how Jesus rose from the dead. But then I got to thinking: wait. This means his body didn't die. It means that not only his soul rose from the dead, but his body got up, walked around, ate a piece of fish, and then floated up to God somehow.
The more I thought about that, the more it seemed like such an impossible fairy tale. Not so much his soul rising from the dead, or even his body walking around. But this whole bodily assumption into heaven? Doesn't make sense. Doesn't wash. How did it happen? Did he float up in the sky? Is heaven in the sky? Did he just vanish? Where did he vanish to? Is heaven another dimension? If Jesus just vanished into thin air, then wouldn't the disciples have done the same? I mean, Jesus said we would do the same things he had done and more.
These bones might be nothing more than the bones of someone who lived back in Jesus' time. But, then again, what if they ARE the bones of Jesus? Sure, it would change things - the way the whole religion of Christianity has been built on the idea of resurrection. But I think actual truth trumps that which we wish were true.

for Cameron there’s another inconvenient truth: The Romans tried their best to quash Christianity in its early days. Being able to produce a body that was indisputably that of the man they had crucified, and using his own followers or even his own mother to make a positive ID, would surely have done the job, if the body was available.
Dontcha think the Romans would have latched on to this tomb of Cameron’s back then, if it was so easily proven to be the tomb that contained the corpse of Christ?
Christ was famous in his day; that fame earned him the ire of the authorities who had him tried and executed. All of the apostles but Judas, eyewitnesses to the crucifixion and/or events that followed, went to their deaths as martyrs claiming the resurrection as truth. It makes very little sense that the Romans would have just allowed the resurrection to go unchallenged if they had a ready way to challenge it.
And it’s not as though the apostles were expecting a resurrection that they would have to defend. They weren’t. The crucifixion crushed their spirits, and most of them went into hiding as Christ hung alone on the cross.
The Gospels record that the apostles were as mystified as everyone else was as to what had become of Christ’s body. It took them a while to get it. Once they did, they took their fight all the way to bitter (earthly) ends. Why would they do that if, in reality, Jesus had simply been buried along with the rest of his family and stayed put in the grave and they all knew this to be the case?
To believe in Cameron’s version of events, you have to believe that everything, and I do mean everything, that we know about the early church years is completely false. But the evidence says that that’s not the case, and you don’t have to be a Christian to accept that the apostles were real people who actually believed what they said about Christ, to the point of brutal deaths as criminals.
In short, you can believe Cameron if you want, but believing in his version of events seems at this point to be more a leap of faith than reason.
.
From its inception Christianity has been under attack. Do you think if the Pharisees had Jesus’ bones they’d wait 2000 years to crush a bunch of Jewish heretics?
Look at how hard Islam tries to discredit Christianity, do you think if there was even a remote possiblity of having Jesus’ bones 1400 years ago, they’d pass it up? PUH-leeeze.
Actually thinking about it, doesn’t Islam claim that Allah came and took Jesus off the cross directly to heaven, with a volunteer taking his place?
Cameron, by claiming he has Jesus’ bones just attacked the veracity of Islam! He got a two-fer and didn’t even know it!

they didn't find his bones, read the entire story.
some lame guy who makes movies (for profit mind you) says he found a grave that has the names Jesus, Mary, Joesph on it. Gee, those are the most common names for that region and specially back during Jesus's day. Plus there are 9 other tombs in that area alone that have those same 3 names. So why is his so special? Cause he says so?
Plus they did DNA testing on scrapings from inside the tomb....NOT BONES....and it came back as no one in the tomb was related. Meaning husband and wife or was just a mix of people that died, maybe in a fire or flood.
Stop believing the TV....for it is called the boob tube and when you believe it.....you become a BOOB.

I totally agree, if Jesus didn't rose physically the people that saw Him in His Ascension wouldn't see him and even His disciples. Resurrection means the rising (physically) of the dead. That director is putting a bunch and bunch of lies to people today i never liked that movie.

you are correct! Jesus was alive when He went to heaven and that's history ...that a lot of people want to question that because they really under-estimated GOD. We all know that Jesus Is the Son of God and God will do everything to protect Him.People will do everything to ruin Jesus even if it takes damnation. This is how people insult anybody ,even God! That's how cruel people are, they have no respect at all even to The Most High,The Creator. Pity us....
