My friend is going to breed her dog, and I disagree with her. The only reason she's even doing it is to have a brown puppy, and even though I point out that she could just adopt another since her parents are ok with more pets, she doesn't care. I also point out that legally, you can't own more than three dogs in my county without a breeding permit. I've even tried pointig out how she always says that they are poor, so how are they going to take care of the new puupies? Does anyone have any facts or webpages I can print up to show her about the facts? I woud like to conv ince her not to do this. I have volunteered with the animal shelter here and have seen how many get put down because of no fundings. I would like something that would freak her out, like the number of dogs that get euthanized a year. Can someone help me find this? Thanks

I'm in the US. Also, around here you have to spay or neuter your pets, yet they haven't with the excuse of breeding

I totally agree there are many sites about the animal overpopulation problem from unexperienced breeders and such. search the internet under animal overpopulation and try the ASPCA website. Also I found this video, created by someone else. Show her it, it is terrible and shows the true facts on this.

There are some fairly graphic pictures of just what happens to all those shelter dogs and cats here http://www.brightlion.com/InHope/InHope_en.aspx

The video still makes me cry and I've seen a hundred times.
