If we have such a problem with the Mexican flag being flown......?

but not with the flags of other immigrants who have been here, some for hundreds of years, how do we justify that?

One of my best friends is married to a Scottish guy who...by the way...is now illegal because he over-stayed his visa to be with her. They fly the Scottish flag in front of their home. No one has ever complained. No one who sees him in the street is yelling at him to go home. I wonder why? Oh, yeah, it's because he's White. He blends in better. He speaks the language. So that makes it ok, right? People try to say it's not a racist thing, it's not a cultural thing but if they REALLY believe that they are lying to themselves. Go to New York City. Go look at Chinatown. I'm sure you'll see a Chinese flag or two. Go look at Little Italy. Italian flag flying high for all the world to see. No problems. No complaints. No controversy.

I've seen many, many different national flags flown in our great country. Why is that? Because our country is comprised of people of all of these countries. Does it mean they aren't American? Does it mean they don't want to BE American? No. It means they cherish their homeland. It means they want to remember where they came from. Each sect of immigrants hangs on to their customs and traditions and passes them down to the next generation. It seems if we had a REAL problem with that it would be the ones who have been here for 200 years and still teach their kids to speak Italian and make pasta, etc. We expect Hispanics, who have just arrived to abandon all of their culture, their history, their customs and their language to be "American." That's just wrong.

CIPHER....I don't recall ever hearing about the Pilgrams having visas. I don't remember the history lesson about how the Native Americans welcomed them with open arms and asked them to please kill their families and kick them off of their own land. Maybe I was out of school the day that lesson was taught. I anxiously await your "proof" that we are indeed all from "legal" immigrants.

its simple,, Mexicans are the new wave of immigrants that's y they are getting picked on,,, i don't think its fair that Americans can wave an Irish flag and be proud of their heritage but Mexicans cant,,,, just because they are proud of where they are from doesn't mean that the are not proud to be American,, they shouldn't have to loose everything they've ever known just to live here,,, i know alot of Mexicans who fly the Mexican and American flag,,and to the lady above me,, Mexicans are not collecting social security that they didnt pay in, actually alot of them have paid taxes and social security with no hopes of receiving anything in return,, most of the Mexicans who just come here on work visas and then return to Mexico never receive any social security or and benefits,, but ill bet some ones grandma on here is receiving a social security check from Jose's wages for the last 20 years,,, i think any race should be allowed to fly whatever flag they want and not hear any grief about it,,, i don't like how its OK for Americans to go downtown and support the Irish flag and get wasted and make asses out of them selves but when Mexicans want to have a Mexican parade and do the same then its wrong? that is so hypocritical......

I'm sure all the LEGAL Scots also pay for their own health insurance, car insurance, and don't expect the government to give them everything for free, either. Just shut your pie hole, you have no case and no argument. I'm so sick of saying this is a nation of immigrants. It's a nation of LEGAL immigrants. There is a big difference between legal and illegal.

If you're such a bleeding heart liberal, then invent a time machine and go back to the days of the Pilgrims. You can correct the whole immigration problem that way and solve the problems of the world. Stop bringing up ancient history; as if we're at fault for that. Get off your soapbox. While you're back in time, you can also stop slavery from ever happening. I suppose that's our fault as well?

I believe the problem is that the new immigrants want special treatment and rights and in the past all immigrants were treated equal. I am SOOO not racist! But I believe that if you want to live here you should have to pay taxes like the rest of us and you can't just have social security dollars if you've never paid in! It's not fair to the rest of us who live here and work hard too! And if their country is SOO great and wonderful ,how come they will do just about anything to get here even risk their lives to be here illegally????

I have no problem with the flags of their country being flown as long as the American flag is above it. My mother was British and we flew both flags at our home with the US flag higher.

Americans are just too full of sh!t. Ever since I met the first one all they do is complain, whine, moan, and ***** about anything. They should be put to live under third-world conditions for just one week and then they would learn how better their lifestyle is.
