Im looking for a car in a different state. Do I have to go to that state to buy the car I want there? What is the process of buying a car from a different state?

It depends what state it is in, I mean it could be in a state of dishevelment or the state of being wrecked.

What kind of state do you wish to purchase a car in (unless you are in the USA and you mean state as in a part of the Country, in that case I apologise and don't know)

Paying cash not much diff - in addition to the title get a hand written bill of sale or at least a receipt for the drive home.

Out of state financing may be a different matter .

The laws in your state of residence apply to Sales taxes, inspections, licensing and emissions.

each state is a little different in their rules, but mostly in taxes and such. you generally dont have to physically be there. i've bought several vehicles via the internet and as well as by phone. the only thing that will pose an issue is if whoever you are purchasing the vehicle needs papers signed. you will probably need a notary to prove it was you purchasing the vehicle and signing the paperwork.

I live in Wisconsin and just bought a car from Illinois. I went there to pick up the car myself. When I registered the car in Wisconsin, I had to pay the out-of-state tax sale price up front... it was like $900.00.

lol dude i happen to know for a fact that you can buy a car truck etc in another state and bring it to your state, personally my grandpa bought a truck from arizona and brought it to cali but licened in organ, for the simple facts that the money you pay plus all the extra went down like if you buy in cali you pay more money cause its in cali and the blah blah so bussiness can make more money off ya but if you bought it from a person for a vehical its cool to just get it, and do everthing you have look up your laws for that

It's easy! Just have the dealer ship it to you. I've done that three times now and it works great. Usually you will have to pay for the shipping but it's cheaper than a trip to the other state usually. Nothing to it!
