I'm 17 and I just got a job at a starbucks near me. there is a cute girl who works there and she looks about my age but when i asked her how old she was i was surprised to hear her answer that she was 20. Today was just my second day, and she was the one training me- she seemed kinda flirty, but I don't think she knows how old I really am. Do I have any shot or is the age gap probably just too much for her? how would I go about this without leading into an awkard situation?

Calm down now. You JUST met her.

As you two start working together, see where things go. She might just being nice because you're new and you'll work together, not because she wants you in bed.

17 and 20 isn't a bad age difference at all.

You're unfortunately at the age where the biggest gap per year occours. She'll be able to buy alcohol in a year, and you're not even old enough to smoke. In fact, and I feel like a butthole for saying this, that her "flirty" attitude may be just affection for a younger kid.

However, I believe in you! The first thing would be to act VERY Mature. Imagine the guy she's looking for and model yourself after what you see. Maturity means being able to communicate with women effectively, so ask questions (avoid sounding flirty) about her life, shoes, etc. Try to align yourself with her interests and, like all situations, if she thinks of you as a mature, interesting guy who can handle himself, she'll be attracted to you. You have my absolute best of luck at this endeavor, and at the very least, maybe you'll be able to make friends with a cool, older chick.

Don't go for it. Understand that even though you're 17, it might be illegal wherever you live for her to engage into a relationship with someone under the age of 18.

It would only be legal if she were within 2 years of you, which she isn't. Wait a few more months, get to know her, turn 18, then go for it.

Just try and talk to her and ask questions about the stuff she talks about. Like if she says something about her cat. Ask what color it is. You may want to get to know her better anyway because some people I've worked with I was totally attracted to then I found out she was a total slut. EW! She had banged like half the guys there. Also say oh your hair looks nice today. And smile at her. You'll have to use your judgment on the rest.

If I was 20 I wouldn't date a 17-year-old. Sorry but you'd have to be REALLY good-looking. If you don't happen to mention your age to her until you've gotten her to fall for you, she may just regard it as a minor detail when eventually she finds out. But it might make her mad. I would say that's a better option than coming right out and saying, "I'm 17." At least if you hide it awhile you have a better chance.

Ok first off age is just a number.
Now if you like her or you think she likes you again Like I tell everyone else your'll never know until you sit down and talk with them. I'd probably say from what you asked you might have a shot, but like I said you would have to talk to her about it. Another thing you have to be honest and tell her your age and don't lie about it.

That isn't that much of an age differance. Just be honest and if she thinks your too young move on. There are plenty of fish in the sea and your too young to worry about one that gets away.

You should just ask her out. That is not that big of an age gap.

age doesnt matter, its maturity... now guys tend to mature slower than girls, but hey each person is different... i say go for it but dont lie... just let her get to know you as a person and if it works, then age wont matter too much
