The painting depicts a girl laying in a field of grass on her stomach. She has her back turned to the viewer and she is reaching out. She's dressed in praire like clothing and may be wearing a large hat.

I've seen this painting some time ago and cannot find it again. I don't know the name or artist but I have a picture of myself as a child that is reminiscent of this painting. Does anyone have any clue as to what painting I am describing?

Everyone is right so far; it is called 'Christina's World' and it was painted by Andrew Wyeth but did you know the girl in the painting was an actual neighbour of Wyeth's and that she was blind. Now doesn't that give the painting a whole lot more meaning?

It's Andrew Wyeth, not Wyatt. It is called Christina's World and it is very famous.
