I am stressing over an interview coming up in March or April and I am scared. I don't even have the drive to do it.

Take deep breaths when you think about it. Exercise regularly to relieve stress. Prepare for the interview by coming up with answers for possible questions (but don't over-rehearse them, or else you'll sound totally fake). On interview day, look your best so that you'll feel confident. Imagine yourself succeeding and reaching your goal. Listen to music that makes you feel hopeful and positive. Best of luck to you!! :-)

What an excellent and honestly fowarded question of which I maybe able to offer some advice. Your social anxiety places you in a difficult position...since during most interviews we ALL feel like we are being GRILLED by the world. Your situation is even more interesting due to the fact that you are feeling that way all the time...correct? So take or leave the following advice.
1. The anxiety you are feeling is common to us all and it is inherent that we ALL are nervous during interviews.
2. You will have overcome and defeated your stress when you believe in yourself enough to foster the courage to even go to the appointment.ACCEPT THE FACT THAT YOU ARE GOING ON THIS INTERVIEW.
3. The key to interviewing is that you take control of the interview. I went to a workshop on interviewing once and this really works. You are competent...and you are qualified....and thats your only job inside that interview...BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND MAKE THEM WANT TO HIRE YOU.No worries ...no stress...theres nothing to lose...unless you don't go. I think from just reading your question....YOU WILL GET THIS JOB!!! I will pray for you...

I am not sure what your age is but I can tell you this from experience. If you want the job and you know how to do it, that's the part you need to center yourself on. Remember you are really no different then the person who is giving the interview. Be you, sell you and no matter the out come be proud of who you are, your a valuable asset in this life show the attitude w/o being arrogant and you'll have the job or they would say your over qualified. Either way get out there and just do it. GOOD LUCK

Just keep telling yourself that they want you to get the job. If they didn't think you could do it, they wouldn't have asked to see more of you! If you are still nervous when you get to the interview, explain this at the beginning. It helps break the ice, and can help relieve the stress. The interviewers will probably be nervous too. Try some breathing exercises and keep telling yourself that you can do it. I know it's difficult I am in the same situation. If you don't get the post make sure you get feedback as to why, as this will not only reassure you as to your own abilities but it will help you improve your technique for the future too. Good Luck!

1. Shake it. The worst they can do is say "no". It's no biggie. Really. Consider the guys in Iraq, or air traffic controllers - one screw-up there and 400+ people are going to have a really bad day.
2. Show what you know and admit what you don't. Don't try to cover it - just indicate that you don't know and that you will find out. Sometimes it's just an honesty test...
3. Get fatalistic. What will happen - will and if it doesn't - may not have been meant for you anyway.
4. Detach. Don't tie everything and his brother to it! Interviews are like men...Er, no - I'm not supposed to say that - am I?

Hi Kim,
Good job on putting yourself out there!! I hope to be as strong and courageous as you one day while i deal with my anxiety disorder. (why does it have to be called disorder anyway? hate that) Anyways,
for the interview,
You have an option of trying Xanax or Klonopin just to name two the night before and the day of your interview. Ihave heard some great things about the effectiveness of these meds specifically in emergency situations or when you know of peticular times of extra stress to come. I know of some people that take these meds right before a public speech and it is very effective at reducing the onset of anxiety. There is some great meds out there specifically for these times. Speak with your Doc.
God Bless you Kim,
P.S. Prayer has always helped me

If it's a ways off yet, try not to think about it too much. Maybe you can do a practice interview with some of your friends posing as the management. If all else fails, calm your nerves beforehand with a shot of whiskey in the parking lot! It worked for me, but I probably shouldn't recommend that.

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.

Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

Try some meditation techniques, hypnosis, and/or guided imagery--you sit and imagine, as often as you need to, that you're in or about to begin a stressful situation, such as an interview:

You see yourself getting dressed, knocking on the door, shaking hands, answering the questions, etc., all the while seeing yourself as calm, collected, and successful.

Good luck. I believe you can ace it. You just need now to believe it too.
