When I found out my second child was going to be a boy, I gave the majority of my girl clothes to my sister-in-law (who's girl is younger than mine). This winter was especially cold in our house, so I asked her if I could BORROW the fleece sleeper outfits I gave her because my son wears two of them to bed and it wouldn’t matter if the underneath one was pink. She has borrowed almost every piece of baby equipment I own--even my electric breast pump! For weeks she gave me the “cold shoulder” and I had no idea why. Today, it came out that she was annoyed that I asked her for the clothes back (about six outfits from the hundreds that I gave her). I even made it VERY clear that I was only going to borrow them. She’s not even using them. They were just sitting in a box.

MY QUESTION IS…is it wrong to ask to borrow something that you gave to someone even though they are not even using it (and never did use it, I might add)?

no its not and besides It doesnot sound like you did anything wrong. If she had a problem she should have just said something.

The motto I have is if you lend something to a family member never expect it back, and also remember that no good deed will go unpunished! DON'T LET petty things break up your family be a bigger person and a better person, also let your example be the one you would want your children to see, it is hard to believe but good will always comes Beck around to help you when you least expect it smile and don't let the little things get you down!

No it is not wrong, not if it is from your own family! She sounds very selfish...think about ever giving her anything else again.
