henry ford did not invent the car. there were already a few car companys when he came along. Cadillac was one of them, mercedez was already making cars, so were a few others. henry ford invented the assembly line, thereby making cars affordable to the masses, instead of something only for the wealthy. before henry ford cars were made one at a time, one guy made on car by hand from start to finish. by inventing the assembly line henry ford also is credited with inventing interchangeable parts. although it had actually been done before. what this means is that the door from one ford model t could fit right onto another model t. or tires or wheels or whatever. before this if a part on your car broke the guy who built your car would have to build you a new piece to fix your car. so really in a way henry ford invented auto zone and Checker, and Napa auto parts also. but again henry ford did not did not absolutely did not invent the car. some actually credit Cadillac with that. but it is hard to tell for sure because a number of people around the world invented cars around the same time. so no one really knows for sure who was first. but we do know it was not henry ford.

He didn't. The first car was made by Karl Benz in 1885 - he got the patent in 1886. All Henry Ford did was invent the idea of the assembly line, so that he could make cars cheaper. Sorry, but America doesn't invent everything - even if they say they do.
