I actually was just talking to a mom about what lack of iron in her child`s diet can do to the child. Her child was consuming too much dairy products and it was inhibiting him from absorbing iron. The child was tired all the time, his skin was pasty and he was out of breath going up the stairs. Iron helps increase hemoglobin in your body, which in turn helps carry oxygen and increases you endurance. Lack of iron can be a serious problem if you want to keep oxygen flowing through your body and keep you red blood cells healthy .

I am not to sure, but I have heard that people who are anemic don't have enough iron in their blood so, that is what makes them look really pale all the time and they get red really easly

Iron is helpful for making bone marrow I think, and bone marrow makes red blood cells, DO NOT TAKE TOO MUCH IRON, IRON OVERDOSE IN SMALL CHILDREN CAN RESULT IN FATAL DEATHS, IF A SMALL CHILD (BELOW 6) TAKES TOO MUCH VITAMINS WITH IRON, CALL A POISON CONTROL CENTER IMMEDIATELY
