You mentioned that 'one of your doctors said'.. so your mother is getting medical care for you and is not neglecting you. I'm sure that if your doctor thought there was a problem, he would make the proper tests or referrals, but some people are just naturally small! I look HUGE next to my mom.... she's 5' 1/2", but SHE looks huge next to her neighbour, who is 4' 8"! And that neighbour is perfectly healthy had 3 much larger children, and grandchildren who are well over 6'! Also, my daughter grew a good six inches between 15 and 17.. she's now taller than I am!
There is always hope.. eat well.. exercise.. if you like taller men, you have so many more to choose from :)

There are many things to consider with development. The fact that you have your period is encouraging. You may be small and underdeveloped, but has your growth curve (kept by your doctor) been steady, or has there been a decline in recent years? What is your genetic potential (a math problem your doctor can help answer)? When did your mom and dad develop? This can play a huge role; if either were late bloomers, then you may be too. Do you have any other symptoms? Examples could be heat/cold intolerance, salt cravings, or other strange stuff. What is your bone age? This is figured by taking an X-ray of your left hand and a radiologist measures it against other people your age. If it is more than 2-3 years different, then you need to see an endocrinologist. Talk to your main doctor first, preferably with your mom out of the room. You can express your concerns, which are very valid. Maybe your doctor can help convince your mom to take you to the endocrinologist, even if it is to ease your mind and rule out some of the more serious problems. Also, be sure your mom knows how much this is bothering you. But don't whine; present it in a logical and well-thought out manner. Best of luck.

I developed really really slow! I didn't even need a bra till I was 21 and even then it was questionable. i think by the time I was 23 I was fully developed. at 21 I could pass for 12. I got that all the time so don't worry, I'm 32 and can pass for 22 you will appreciate it later trust me. But if your concerned go to your doctor and tell him your concerns tell him you would like to speak to him without your mother present, your old enough to say that and they will allow it. Tell him your concerns without telling him what everyone else says, because what everyone else says doesn't matter at the end of the day, it how you feel and how your doctor says your health is. So good luck!

You need to see your regular doc and get his input on this. Unless he feels that you need to be seen by an endocrinologist I would not recommend it. I am short also but drive and do everything others do. If you haven't seen the show Little Poeople Big World maybe you need to check that show out. It shows how to make the best of being short etc. See your regular doc for a checkup and get his input into this whole thing.

When your 60 your will look much younger. Women over 30 pay big bucks to look younger, and your complaining. What a shame your so ungrateful for the life you have been given. Make the best of what your have. You could be seriously ill or badly deformed. You could have grown up in Iraq in Bagdad. Your parents could have been drug addicts or molesters.

Call Social Services and report her for child neglect. It's your life and if you wait until you are 18 to get help it may be too late..if it isn't already.
