Labs make great family pets, which is why they are so popular. I'd say, go for it. Be sure that your pug can handle being around other dogs in his home(being inside his territory is different than on the streets). Get a friend to bring a dog(a puppy preferably) into the house and see how the pug reacts. As a general side-note: make sure you get the dog from a trusted breeder. If you'd like to get one from a shelter, be sure to get the story on the dog(they'll usually tell you) and have it checked over by a vet before you seal the deal.

I have a lab. Wonderful dogs!! I have known a few pugs too, and I love them too! My lab is an only child and when I sit other dogs in my home, even dogs that my lab is familiar with, she gets very dominant. Not mean, just pretend fighting. Labs do demand a lot of attention especially when they're pups, and I'm afraid that your pug might feel left out and may begin acting out in order to get your attention. If it were me, I'd keep the pug as an only child!

If your pug gets along with other dogs and if the lab is a puppy that would be no problem at all... just make sure the pug gets alot of attention also so he doesn't get jealous.

Oh yeah. I have a pug and a shepherd mix. The shepherd I had before the pug but the pug runs the house. The shep would rip him apart if he wanted to but he allows the pug to rule. They're best friends. My bf had a lab and they all got along very well.
