Can anyone tell us where the surname Odegeest originated?

Ideally it would be awesome to hear the origin as well as a definition of sorts of the surname. Thanks much!

I guess it's a Vlamaand/Dutch surname (Holland- Nederland-Belgium Vlandren origin) and in English means "Gosth's Ode".
Dutch word Ode is in English Ode/Poesy and Geest means ghost/phantom/spirit (Geest has also other meanings like soul, mind, fairy, but I feel they are not fitting this context)
