I have a disease without a cure and that has left me with horrible pain for almost a decade? Why should I want to worship something that has left me with a disease that's been called "a doctor's worst nightmare"?

What will it do, send me to Hell where I'll just be subjected to even more pain and suffering?

I've already denied the existence of the holy spirit countless times, I'll even do it again right now: I deny the existence of the judeo-christian god, jesus, and the holy spirit, so I'm doomed to burn in Hell since that's the one unforgivable sin.

Why should I even consider worshipping such a tyrant?

Maurice,

That's funny since before I became Atheist, I'd pray and pray and pray until I cried, but it never happened. Do you know what my praying did? Absolutely nothing. Funny.....

Jimguyy,

If that does in fact happen, I'll simply call him an "asshole," give him the finger, and walk away.

Friendshipband,

Sorry, that doesn't do anything except waste energy.

Farina,

Sorry but I do not see any reason nor evidence to consider the notion of this deity of yours existing as anything more than just wishful thinking.

Good for you. When you're ready to take you last breath and get a glimpse of hell you will be crying a different tune.

I'm sorry that you have a disease, but all pain is a result of sin. God doesn't like us to suffer, but he allows it. By the way, I'm not really sure what your talking about with the judeo-Christian thing.

What you just said isn't the unforgivable sin, so don't sweat it. That's when you know God is real, believe his son Jesus died on the cross, and all of the other stuff in the Bible, and still say you want no part of Jesus.

Remember, Jesus can help, and will make your suffering bearable. Reach out to him. Perhaps he will even heal you. He doesn't want anyone to go to Hell, and loves you very much, and wishes you to come to him.

I'll be praying for you.

You sound like you're in a lot of pain. Why would anyone want to worship someone who has given them horrible pain or disease that's "a doctor's worst nightmare?"

Yet we live in a world where germs and viruses exist, we live in a world where we make choices and others make choices that impact us and our lives.

The long and the short of it is God does not determine this one will have this disease or not. We make life choices, or we inherit propensities from our families and we end up with diseases we'd rather not choose.

At a time like this with all you are suffering I can see why it would be so difficult to believe in God's presence or Jesus or the Holy Spirit's existence. Even though you choose not to acknowledge them, does not in any way detract from who they are.

Will you go to hell? I don't think so. The God that I know is very merciful. He knows what you and many others are going through. He supports us when we fall and strengthens us when we're discouraged.

How do I know? I've been there too. The pits. The bottom. All I could do was say: I believe. Help my unbelief. (These are not my words, but from the scripture.)

Hope this helps. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Why waste your time entertaining such dribble?
Clearly from your question you put a lot of belief in the existance of this God or else you wouldn't buy into the hell concept or the BS about if you deny a holy spirit which like God is a completely man made idea!

As for whatever disease you have it didn't come from a God since YUP YOU GUESSED IT. THERE IS NO GOD!
Every single disease that people get is the direct result of cause and effect. Some people because of family tree have a genetic disposition for certain diseases where others do not. This is not the result of a non existant God!

WHY? Why should I worship a God that let me give birth to a dead baby? A son that is bi-polar, an ex husband that cheated on me endlessly and left me and my children for broke? Has left me jobless, making it to difficult to get through school for a teaching degree (something horrible always comes up... this year i was struck with an intestinal illness that left me in bed for 2 weeks and recovery for 2), given me depression and anxiety, a daughter that was diagnosed with a sometimes fatal disease (dermatomyositis .. no cure for this either)... given my mother such horrible arterial disease that she suffers every day.... the list goes on... WHY? I have no idea why I was given the life I have.. but I do know that i continue to pray and thank God everyday for what He has given me. I do find comfort in Him and struggle everyday. I know it would be worse if I didn't worship Him. I would be bitter and unloving. I would have no Hope what so ever in this world, no strength, or understanding. I would whine every day about WHY ME??? ( I only do this on occasion) I would be miserable and feel doomed. I will admit that I DO feel all this at times in my life.. I do hit lows.. but I keep on going day to day.

If I didn't worship God, I would feel empty without Him, and feel doomed to Hell. I'd rather not feel this way.. why do you?

It is hard to think there is any good when you feel so badly. I am not in your shoes and do not know what you are going through, but you don't know what I am going through either. I just know that relying on God is the best thing to do. If you believe there is a Hell were you are headed, why not make an effort to get to the better place? Give God a chance....

Look I can very trully understand what you are going throughI have experienced some of the same. but I refuse to give up my faith What I have is uncureable too But I do agree with you, that you should not worship God if you do it for the wrong reasons, that would be a waste of God's precious time as well as your own!Your obvious ignorance of God is trully witness to the fact that you are missing out on something, that is, the true knowledge of God and his true attrtibutes, your misconceptions of him truly are leading you up the garden path, a mirrage even. You are missing out on the true benefits of knowing the True God, a God of Love, that has your true interests at heart, who wants to help you to benefit yourself and be able to live a truly happy life without any pain or suffering, but instead you are allowing the true tyrant to mislead you with his lies and deceptions useng your misfortune against you to get you out ofbeing asble to receive the gift that God truly wants you to have!(2Corinthians4:4)you obviously believe the misconceived ideas of those who are faling into the same trap that you are, the lies anddeceptions of the real tyrant. Do yourself a favour Learn the truth about God and learn about how you can have and attain the real life. Don't settle for the misconceived ideas without true knowledge, for you cannot burn in hell forever, that is a lie and it is a physical impossibility, to keep on burning after you have burned out, and to truly be tortured in this way you would need to be conscious(Ecclesiastes9:5) but the dead are not conscious of anything at all! The hellfire teaching is false, and not scriptural.

You should want to worship God because He is the one that allows you to live eternally. A decade compared to infinity is just a dot on a graph. I'll be praying for you and your needs.

Edit: To Matt, the un-confrontational Christian, why did you say that? That is completely wrong. Show love towards one another, not scoff at people in need.

I will not enourage you to worship God , however if you get a chance do a web search on THELEMA , or the book of the law this will help you to understand God's nature and assist you with your pain if you take the time to look , I promise nothing except freedom

you should believe in him because god forbid (no pun intended) all the religious nuts might come after you about not accepting jesus into your life!

seriously dude, do your thing, believe what you want to believe, there is always going to be someone who is going to tell you your wrong. so make the best you can with what youve got, thats all that really matters. there is no right or wrong anymore. so long as your not hurting anyone with your beliefs, i dont see what the big deal is if you believe in him or not.

First of all quit feeling sorry for yourself
Second you have not committed the unforgivable sin
Make the best out of what you got, but it will take a little effort
