I am 14 years old, 6'2" tall, and I weigh 280 pounds what should I do as far as lifting weights and excersing? I mean I do want to lose weight but I would rather just be in better shape

Increase cardio and its intensity. 30-60 minutes everyday will help you tone a lot and lose fat. For lifting, increase the intensity there as well. More muscles burn more calories throughout the day. Instead of doing 3 sets of say 15, do a set of 15 at one weight, decrease the rep but increase the weight for your next set, and your last set as well. Do Lift To Failure so by your last rep, you are struggling to finish it. This tears your muscles more, and the rest builds them and they get bigger faster. First, manage your diet. A diet high in protein (meat, nuts) and natural sugars (fruits) is the first step. These things will help build muscle in daily activities. Try to limit carbohydrates (breads, pastas) and fatty foods (fried or greasy). The next thing is to combine a weight routine with a cardio routine. Swimming is a great activity for your size because it will work to build muscle as well as trim fat. Remember, you don't need to work out every day, go one on and one off or two on and one off to allow your body time to recouperate from the activities. If you follow this plan you will both tone and build muscle, lose fat, and increase your lung capacity.
