Why or why not?

If you're not with someone- why? what happened with your last relationship? Did it alter your view of the opposite sex?

If you're with someone- is it just dating, an official relationship, marriage, or what? How did you guys meet? And is the relationship more along the lines of love or lust?- be honest!

You don't have to answer all of these questions by the way. Any comments would be appreciated :-)

I am with the person I would hope to spend the rest of my life with. I love him like I've never loved before. I am 45 and he is 54. We both feel the same way. We are living together. We have been together for 3 years as of feb 8th. We are going to get married next year. (Probably on 2-8-2008). We met at work. I have worked at the place for 5 years at the time, and he was a new guy. We were introduced to each other 10 times by different people in the same day. The first time I saw him was when I was walking into work one morning (I worked in a manufacturing environment) and I walked by this one area and I noticed a guy I had never seen before at the desk. I later got a look at his face and fell in love with his beautiful blue eyes. I kept my eye on him for a couple of days. Then, I really started developing a crush on him, so I talked to one of my good friends (this other guy) and asked him to go find out if he was single. I also asked him to try and see if he was interested in anyone. My friend went and talked to him and came back and told me that he was single. He also told me that this new guy asked about me!!! It was really cool. We ended up exchanging email addresses the first week and then we went on our first date and we have been together since. We have had some hard times, but it seems that no matter what, and no matter how hard things get between us, we still always feel the love and know we will not leave each other. We have a lot of things to work on. And we do. We always work on looking at our own part and taking responsibility for what we need to and through that, our "us" issues seem to work on themselves.

I dunno... I thought I was. I've been single for a while and it never really bothered me at all. In fact I've been single on purpose because it's easier than being in a relationship. But all of a sudden I started falling for an extremely random anyone. I wasn't even paying close attention, and then pow! How can that kind of stuff catch you off guard? It doesn't seem possible. And now I'm just... blah. I don't even know what this feeling is. This is the feeling of me pretending not to care. I don't know if that means I'm unhappy. I do know that I'd rather feel something else. So still single, and unable to identify exactly what it is that i want... i guess I'll just let it fade. "love" doesn't have to last if you don't want it to.

Content, yes. Totally satisfied, no. Sweetheart, relationships are a work in progress whether you just went out on your first date or if you've been married for forty years. Both people just have to be committed to working things out and sticking with it.
People don't get divorced because they have problems. They get divorced because they don't want to have to put forth an effort in their relationship anymore. Or, in other words, just because some people seem to be happy together doesn't mean they don't have problems. It just means that they are committed to work through them. Most important thing to realize is that you are selfish if you think that everything should be the way you want it to be right now. Don't make big things out of little things. Will the things that bother you now matter next week or in a few years? You have to look at the big picture and work on the little things as they come. (Married for twenty-one years) (Through the good times and the bad we weather the seasons of life)

I am single and happy. Christmas 05 was the break-up of my 2 1/2 year first relationship ever that was Long Distance. We weren't right for each other. We were totally wrong for each other, and I ended up getting really hurt. They say that behind every ***** is the man who made her that way (to the guy's credit, the reverse is also applicable). It made me look closer when I get to know guys, and to guard my heart more.

i just like the idea of a relationship i don't really like the "making it work" part. some call it commitment phobia but i just think i haven't found the right person.
